How can I stop postponing my assignments until the last minute and develop a habit of completing them on time?

I usually know what work I need to do, but I keep delaying it until the deadline is close. Then I feel stressed and sometimes cannot do my best work.

I think the biggest thing is to stop expecting an instant solution and give yourself room to learn. Estimate how long a task will take and leave some buffer because student schedules rarely go exactly as planned. You do not need a perfect plan; you need a plan you can actually follow.

Try treating this as a skill you can build rather than a weakness you have to hide. Separate urgent tasks from important long-term work so the urgent items do not consume every available hour. Focus on progress you can measure, not on being ahead of everyone else.

I think the biggest thing is to stop expecting an instant solution and give yourself room to learn. Choose a simple routine you can follow on an ordinary day, not only on your most motivated day. Keep notes on what works for you instead of copying someone else's routine.

I would try replacing the thought 'I must figure this out' with 'I will test one option and learn from it.' Choose a simple routine you can follow on an ordinary day, not only on your most motivated day. Even a small improvement repeated every day can change the situation.

I would try replacing the thought 'I must figure this out' with 'I will test one option and learn from it.' When your schedule breaks, adjust the next block rather than declaring the entire day wasted. Keep notes on what works for you instead of copying someone else's routine.

One practical approach is to focus on what you can control this week rather than solving your whole future today. Protect sleep, meals, and recovery time because an overloaded schedule is difficult to sustain. You do not need a perfect plan; you need a plan you can actually follow.

Don't compare your chapter with someone else's finished-looking story. Estimate how long a task will take and leave some buffer because student schedules rarely go exactly as planned. Focus on progress you can measure, not on being ahead of everyone else.

The fact that you are thinking seriously about this already shows that you care about your future. Use fixed study blocks and fixed rest periods so breaks do not accidentally become the whole evening. You do not need a perfect plan; you need a plan you can actually follow.

It's completely okay to be uncertain while you are still learning about yourself. Separate urgent tasks from important long-term work so the urgent items do not consume every available hour. You do not need a perfect plan; you need a plan you can actually follow.
